Lacey Real Estate

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest

Located in the Pacific Northwest in Thurston county the city of Lacey has some interesting tidbits of history. Did you know...

1. Lacey is not the original name of the city. Catherine & Isaac Wood named the settlement Woodland when they claimed land there in 1853. They were turned down for a Post Office in 1891 when they applied because there was already another town on the Columbia river by the same name.  It's said that the name was chosen after a justice of the peace.

2. Lacey has a sister city in Poland?  Yep...Minsk Mazowiecki.  It's origins are traced to sometime in the 14th century and Minsk Mazowiecki is also a sister city to Krnov which is located in the Czech Republic.

3. It was designated a "Green Power Community" by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency because of Lacey's use of renewable energy resources.

4. Population is over 45,446 (2014) and there are more females living there than males!

5. Lacey offers one of the finest municipal park systems in the state with over 1100 acres for residents and visitors to enjoy!
